"DJ Hero" Maker On DJ AM's Passing, "We Are Deeply Saddened By The Loss"
by ThisizGame

Activision, the maker behind Jay-Z's upcoming DJ Hero video game, has released a statement on the passing of the game's contributor, Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, and said the late deejay's work would still be featured in the project.

In addition to speaking on his passing, the company also said his final work was vital to the game.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of DJ AM, who was a tremendous talent, a trusted partner and friend to DJ Hero," a statement read. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. AM was instrumental in the making of DJ Hero and we hope that his work on the game will be a fitting tribute to his creative spirit and musical talent." (Woooha)

In addition to featuring contributions from DJ AM, the video game will also help fans step in to the shoes of a hip-hop deejay.

The makers of Guitar Hero introduce a new way to experience your favorite music. With DJ Hero you will be the life of the party as you scratch and mix more than 100 songs into over 90 unique mixes. Learn basic and advanced DJ Hero techniques, then spin your way through different set lists in beginner, easy, medium, hard, and expert modes. Grab your friends and start your own DJ Hero party. (Gaming Age)

Eminem previously spoke on the "fun" aspect behind the upcoming release.

"I think there's a lot of kids who listen to hip-hop [and] buy video games," Em said in an interview. "A lot of the same audience. It gives the kids a chance to, kinda, get their feet wet with the deejaying experience. Obviously it's a video game so it's not the actual thing, but, it can give you a feel for what it's kinda like for kids or whatever...If this game would have came out back when I was a kid, I would have went to Target and stole it along with my pink 'Alf' shirt...I think that this is kinda a way for kids, you know with Guitar Hero it's like challenging them to be able to play the songs and this is kinda challenging the kids to become a deejay." (YouTube)

DJ AM's memorial will take place tomorrow (September 3) evening in California.

A celebratory memorial will be held for Goldstein Thursday night at the Hollywood Palladium, which last October was the site of DJ AM's first performance following the plane crash that he and Travis Barker survived. "The format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting. Adam's friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life are welcome. We ask only that everyone adhere to the tradition of anonymity and let what they hear there, and who they see there, stay there." (E! Online)

Battle Over Tupac Movie Heading To Trial
by ThisizGame

The battle between Afeni Shakur’s Amaru Entertainment and film company Morgan Creek Productions rages on over the making of a bio-pic about rapper Tupac Shakur.

The two companies are locked in litigation over a movie on the life of Tupac Shakur. In a lawsuit filed last February, Morgan Creek accused Amaru of breaching a contract to produce a movie about Shakur, who was gunned down on the Las Vegas strip in September of 1996.

Amaru filed a cross-complaint against Morgan Creek, claiming the production company interfered with other potential deals for the movie.

Lawyers claim that Morgan Creek attempted to block other interested film companies from being involved in the film, by claiming to have exclusive rights to produce the untitled flick.

"We are pleased with the court's ruling yesterday morning. It supports our claim that Morgan Creek tortiously interfered with the making of the Tupac Shakur movie,” said Skip Miller of Miller Barondess, LLP in Los Angeles, attorney for Amaru Entertainment. “I look forward to trying this case and have the jury decide the matter. Morgan Creek has a history of bullying people into giving them rights they did not acquire. This time, they picked on the wrong people."

A trial date has now been set for Tuesday, April 13, 2010.

On his sentencing, Brown says that "everything comes with consequences. They want me to pick up trash remove graffiti...I'm a hard worker. It's something I'm willing to do." Chris also talks about his life with his abusive father. "I used to be scared to go to bed," he recalls. "Nobody taught us how to love one another. Nobody taught us a book on how to how to control our emotions or our anger...I wish I could have changed that night." "I just need to prove to people I can be a role model," Brown says. "That's not who I am as a person, and that's not who I promise I want to be." Chris says he misses Rihanna and admits he's not sure how to deal with her dating other guys. "I definitely would be affected by it, but, at the end of the day, I mean, we're not together, so, if she's happy, I'm cool...We'll always be friends." (CNN)
